This is a small open-air chapel at the southern end of Cristo St. Legend has it that the chapel celebrates a miracle that prevented a boy and his horse from plunging off the city wall. Discovered in the beginning of the 20th century, this is one of the most important archaeological sites in the Caribbean. It consists of 10 ceremonial bateyes (ball fields) of varying sizes dating back to 1200 AD. It has a small museum and petroglyphs that were carved by the Taíno Indians. Beaches and marked trails of Culebrita Island are open to the public daily from sunrise to sunset. Stay on marked trails and do not enter closed areas. It has fabulous beaches on the west and the north inlet. Remember sunblock and water. There are no facilities. The lighthouse, established in 1886 and still operational, is owned by the Municipal Government of Culebra and is currently closed until renovations are complete. Learn to recognize and avoid the toxic manchineel tree, common in dry sites and found alongside trails.

This is a crucial ecological area covering a great portion of metro San Juan where freshwater and ocean water intermix. An excellent way to see a part of this area is the Parque Lineal Enrique Martí Coll boardwalk. The estuary includes San Juan Bay, the Condado Lagoon, the San José Lagoon, Los Corozos Lagoon, La Torrecilla Lagoon, and the Piñones Lagoon. It also includes the Martín Peña and San Antonio Channels and the Suárez Canal.

Also known as Palacio de Santa Catalina, this beautiful palazzo has been the home to governors of Puerto Rico since 1544. It is recognized as the oldest Executive Mansion in continuous use in the Western Hemisphere and in 1983 was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. An architectural jewel worth visiting. Guided tours of the gardens in English (every hour on the hour) and Spanish. Tours are subject to change without notice. This is a very important historic structure and facility in western Puerto Rico. The well-maintained French provincial-style mansion stands on 110 acres and is on the National Historic Register. On the grounds (at the east end) is a protected sanctuary for endangered bird species. In front of the mansion is an old train engine from the sugarcane era. On the weekends you can see ultralights flying from the dirt landing strip on the south end of the property. A new entrance south from Rt 2 at Km 115.9 was just built.
